The Secrets of Reaching Number One on Google by Elizabeth D. Nichols

I've been fortunate to reach the first spot in the natural rankings for two product launches as an affiliate marketer in the past couple of weeks. Here's the secret to my success:

1. Start a review blog in your market niche. It will take a number of postings to begin to see results in Google, but the sooner you start and the more frequently you post, the more likely you'll be taken "seriously" by the Google bots.

2. Prepare your strategy for reviews of new products from respected marketers within your product niche in the pre-launch period. Unless you are seasoned at product launches, select the products of marketers who are possibly newer or "second tier" and who will have a slightly smaller following among affiliates. Less competition equals a better chance of beating out the competition for a high ranking with your review of the product. Better natural ranking position will, of course, improve your sales of the product once it launches. You can find out about product launches through forums, by subscribing to the lists of other marketers, attending conferences, or by subscribing to jvnotifypro.com. 2. Ask the product developer for an advance copy of the product. If you have been a frequent buyer of previous products, you are beginning to gain a reputation as a good product reviewer, or you have a list to offer for joint venture with the product developer you can probably get a free, or reduced price, review copy.

3. You must include the name of the product and some indication that this is a review in the title of your blog post or article. Your blog post should include the name of the product, its author and your affiliate link several times throughout the post. Include specific, concrete evidence that you have actually looked at the product and are qualified to review it to improve trust and credibility. For ezine articles, make sure you follow the guidelines of the publisher regarding links to a specific product and the frequency of mentions for a product name within your post.

4. To keep on top of the rankings follow up your review with posts in other media. If you rank well with your blog, then do an ezine article, create a review page, create a Squidoo lens on the topic, and talk up the product and its author both before and right after the launch in forums. In my experience, putting a good review in my blog and writing informative review articles for the top ezines in the niche are the best ways to get high Google rankings initially. Then follow up with fresh insights about the product in other media.
